Default how to insert the file name/location in the footer of a word doc

When creating a footer in word 2007 how do I easily insert the file name and
or location. I know that when I worked in old word there was a button that
would insert it.

Did you actually download the offered template? It contains the building
block, with instructions for adding it to your own.

Suzanne,

I am so frustrated by this footer building block thing. I've downloaded the
template but when I open a new document, the building block to add file name
and pathway is not available. I also want to add page x of y to my standard
footer but I can't get the file name to work right yet.

Did you follow the instructions in the template? You can actually read them
on the screen in the template gallery.

Alternatively, you could create your own building block. In the header or
footer, use Insert | Text | Quick Parts | Field to insert a FILENAME field,
checking the box for "Add path to filename." Select the inserted field and
save as an AutoText entry (Alt+F3) in the AutoText or Header/Footer gallery.
