Default How to turn off automatic slide master in power point

I want to vary the style of each of my slides in a powerpoint presentation
and instead, even though I select only one slide when I change a style, all
of the slides are changed when I change one. I cannot find where to turn
off the automatic application of the slide style to all the other slides in
my presentation and it is driving me crazy. I have sometimes 50-60 slides
in a presentation and want EACH ONE to have a different style.

JM,
I take it you are talking about applying a different slide design to every
slide. What happens if you click on the little arrow beside the thumbnail and
choose apply to selected slide?

When I do that, it applies the design to every single slide in the
presentation.
