Change data source
Hi, I have set up a bunch of queries linked to a test data source. I now want
to change the data source to the live data source. What are the steps that I need to follow in order to change the data source (DSN)? -- Many thanks Jonathan Parminter |

Since DSNs are a named source. I simply delete the old one and create a new
one with the same name, but a different path to the data. -- Arvin Meyer, MCP, MVP Microsoft Access Free Access downloads http://www.datastrat.com http://www.mvps.org/access "Jonathan" wrote in message ... Thanks Arvin, so there is nothing that is a simple method from within the
Excel that a standard user can re-set as I'm not always available to do as you suggest? -- Many thanks Jonathan Parminter "Arvin Meyer [MVP]" wrote: Since DSNs are a named source. You should only need to do it once for each unique DSN. A DSN is saved with
the extension .odc Hunt them down on your machines and they should be easy to find and configure. -- Arvin Meyer, MCP, MVP Microsoft Access Free Access downloads http://www.datastrat.com http://www.mvps.org/access "Jonathan" wrote in message ... Thanks Arvin. I have an .xla with a custom menu. I've just added into this
the ability to change DSN before creating query tables. I do appreciate your help. :-) -- Many thanks Jonathan Parminter "Arvin Meyer [MVP]" wrote: You should only need to do it once for each unique DSN.
