"File" menu item disappeared from "Worksheet Menu Bar"
Hi,
I am using Excel 2000. Suddenly have found the "file" menu item missing (not near the "Edit" item) on the "Worksheet Menu Bar". Tried running - Excel /a on the Run.. command line with no effect. Also, tried resetting toolbars i.e. - Tools Customize Toolbars Reset... (on the "Worksheet Menu Bar"). Need help.... Thanking everyone in advance --- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

I'm surprised that resetting the worksheet menubar didn't work.
But maybe you could just customize that toolbar and drag File back to its rightful spot. tools|customize|commands tab|Builtin menus category drag File back to the toolbar. === if that doesn't help, you can reset all your toolbars by deleting the file that holds the customized toolbars. close excel windows start button|search (or find) look for *.xlb (look for hidden files and through hidden folders) Rename them to *.xlbOLD and try it out. if that works, dump the *.xlbOLD. If it doesn't, you can just rename them back. But you will lose any customizations you've done. "gettarun " wrote: Hi, I am using Excel 2000.
