Default How to set rules to filter emails?

Dose anyone have any suggestions on how to set rules to filter emails?
I am using XP SP2 with IE7.
I receive a ton of junk mails for my pop3 account, I would like to receive
email from specific domain only, e.g. @abc.com and @gmail.com, and other
emails from the other domain will filter into Trash and delete when closing
outlook express.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Only /from/ those two domains? Here are some suggestions that go beyond
that.

To block a domain, create a Message Rule:

Where the from line contains people
Delete it and Stop processing more rules (or Delete it from the server)
Click on Contains People and Add the domain. Ex: @yahoo.com
Click on Options and change it to *Does Not Contain*.

-------------------------------------

Address Book Only Rule:

Start with the Address Book only rule and as you get messages you want from
people not in your Address Book, (E-mail from businesses, bills, your ISP,
etc.), you can add them to the rule.

Tools | Message Rules | Mail | New.

Box 1 - Where the From line contains people {check it}

Box 2 - Check: Delete it & Stop processing more rules if you want messages
not in the Address Book to go to Deleted Items, or you can create a Junk
folder and direct them there.

You can choose Delete it from server, but be careful as you will never have
any messages downloaded to any folder if you choose this option.

Box 3 - Click on the blue words Contains People

Click on the first address to highlight it. Scroll down to the end and hold
down the Ctrl key while you click on the last address. This will highlight
them all. Right click on them and click on From in the menu that appears.

Now click Options and Choose: Message *does not contain* the people below in
the top Options box, and choose: Message matches any one of the people below
in the bottom Options box.

OK your way out of the new rule.

Now, only addresses you entered will be downloaded to your Inbox. You will
not see any other e-mail.

Don't forget, if you add someone to your Address Book, you will have to add
them to the rule. It will not be added automatically.

------------------------------------------

I try Window Defender on my computer, and find 1 virus and remove it, but try
it on user's computer next week,
Ironically, my colleahue just re-install XP for Miss X, but she reports all
CD and USB are not able to use, when I try to install Window Defender to
check for any virus, and find fail to install because of error on Windows
Installer 3.1, and I need to follow the case next week. Do you have any idea?
Will it sound like virus again? The security software is very weak, they are
using Sophos only, and find nothing when I use it to scan for any virus on
infected computer.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thank everyone very much for any suggestions
Eric

How many times do I have to post this, Eric?

Backup your personal data, then do a format & clean install of Windows.
Please note that a Repair Install (AKA in-place upgrade) will NOT fix this!

After the clean install, you'll have the equivalent of a "new computer" so
take care of everything on the following page before otherwise connecting
the machine to the internet or a computer network and before using a USB key
that isn't brand-new or hasn't been freshly formatted:

5 steps to help protect your new computer before you go online
http://www.microsoft.com/protect/com...nced/xppc.mspx

NB: If all of these computers are on a local network, you must disconnect
ALL of them from the network and do the above on ALL of the computers AND
either Reset or Reinstall the router BEFORE reconnecting the computers to
the local network!

Eric

Windows Defender is not an anti-virus programme. It does not detect
viruses!

You need an anti-virus programme and an anti-spyware programme!

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
1.36 -freeware (if you upgrade you pay).
http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes...-10804572.html

Run Malwarebytes' and turn off your current anti-virus
before you do to avoid a conflict. Disregard the invitation on the web
site regarding the Registry Optimiser -a Registry Optimiser is not a
helpful utility.
