My hard drive died. All the Office 2003 files were moved to another HD. But
the install files didn't make it. I don't have the case to my Office cd.
Where can I get a product key for this that won't cost an arm or a leg? I
have a genuine cd but no key. Help.

Did it come preinstalled on the computer or did you purchase it separately?

If purchased retail, and you can prove purchase
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;326246

However if Office is an OEM version supplied with the PC then you would need
to contact that supplier

Office must be installed and registered with the new installation of
Windows. You cannot simply copy the Office files from the old HDD to the new
one.

The files that you created can be copied over for the new installation of
Office to read. That is, your Word and Excel documents and spread sheets can
be copied, but Word and Excel themselves have to be installed, they cannot
be copied.
