Automatic Update
Hi
I've document with 8 sections. Here's an example of the two sections. 1. First 1.1 First mail 1.2 Second mail 2. Add User 2.1 Update User 2.1.1 Update New Users 2.2 Delete User -------------------------------------- I have a table where I have a column 1 and column 2. In the first column I've numbers like 1.1, 1.2. Some times the numbers are in the same row and other time they are on different rows. In the second column I've same thing. In other words in the table I've said section 1 is linked with section 2.1.1... I would like to know if I update the document can I also update the numbers in the table as well. For example, let’s say I update the document by adding a section between 1.1 and 1.2. This makes an existing section 1.2 Second mail = 1.3 Second mail. If I had 1.2 in the table I want its number to update to 1.3 as well. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance. |

What you're creating looks an awful lot like a TOC. If you insert a TOC
field in Word, it will update automatically, picking up the numbering of your heading paragraphs. -- Suzanne S.
