Default Product key doesn't work!

I have come to the end of the microsoft office trial period and have to enter
my product key. I've left it a long time (about a year) as I rarely use it,
but now need Word at home. There is a product key on a label on the bottom of
my lap top, but when I enter it, it isn't valid.

Any advice?

Thanks.

Thats because the key on the laptop is for windows (which it states on the
label)

You need to buy an office version you need, probably Office Home & Student,
provided its not for commercial use.
Uninstall your Trial version, together with any activation assistant, reboot
the PC and install your paid for version of Office
