Default Combining Records on a Report

I have Access 2000 and have a database with 1 record
pertaining to an individual in a family. As you might
imagine, if a family has 4 members, then there are 4
record each with the family name and the first name of
the ihdivudual.

I would like to create a report that shows only the
Family name one time, then each individual's first name
from another record followed by 1 ocurrence of the
address and telephone number for the family.

Is this asking too much or am I just missing the right
terminology to find this answer in the HELP of Access.

Please help if you can.

Thanks,
Larry H.

Larry,

Do you really have a record for each individual, with the family details
such as surname, address, etc duplicated for each family menber? If so,
it may be pertinent to set the Hide Duplicates property of the Address,
Phone, etc controls on the report.

Ideally, you would have a Family table, and another table for
Individuals, which are related one-to-many based on a FamilyID field.
In this case, you can base your report on a query which includes both
tables, and use the report's Sorting and Grouping facility to create a
Family Header section, where you place the family name, address, etc,
with the firstnames shown in the report's Detail section.
