insert calculated value in series name
I am using macros to make charts.
One of the lines in the chart is a statistical smoothing curve. The number of points included in the smoothing is either 4, 6, 12, or 18. The chart automatically labels the series as "PI Smoothing". I want it to read, "PI Smoothing (6 Point)" or 4, 12, or 18 as appropriate. Please help. TIA |

Papa -
You can use a cell reference for the series name: choose Source Data from the Chart menu, click on the Series tab, select a series, and clear the Name box and select a cell. Now write a formula in the target cell that concatenates the cells you need to build the label. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Peltier Technical Services Tutorials and Custom Solutions http://PeltierTech.com/ _______ Papa Jonah wrote: I am using macros to make charts.
