Office 2003: dying on W2K Pro and Windows 2K Server. aaargh
Love Office 2003. Unfortunately, 4 out of the 6 peopel we have tested
it on have suffered maddening slow downs using office 2003 applications on our current environment: nothing unusual, W2kPro and W2K Advanced server. Starts fine for about a week then they all puill there hair out and come beggin for me to make it stop ;^) Slow downs seem to involve any interaction with server: File Opening, Saving, accessing, Sending mail, etc. Have all available updates for O2003 and the server. Uninstalling O2003 and putting them back on Office XP Pro resolves all issues and they are smokin' again. Problem is that in that small time they became smitten with O2003 features. Any ideas? Im only a pseudo-IT guy (by default) so be gentle. Todd |

Todd:
You may have better luck finding an answer from the Advanced Server gurus -- while they don't often visit Office newsgroups, they do often visit: microsoft.public.win2000.advanced_server Good luck, steve "Todd W. Todd W. Roat,
Office 2003 has many features that by (default installation) access Office Online. Help/Clip media etc... As posted you may want to post this in your server edition group for best results. This default install & server response could be your problem. |
