I can't change the macro security level
I have created an administrative install for Office XP Professional and left the macro settings "as is" - set to High. It installs with no errors. I'm now testing it and having a problem with the Macro Security setting. Some users need to lower their settings to work on a document with Macros. They should be able to do what the the help file says:
Change the security level for macro virus protection 1. On the Tools menu, click Options. 2. Click the Security tab. 3. Under Macro Security, click Macro Security. 4. Click the Security Level tab, and then select the security level you want to use. However, as soon as we leave the menu, it sets it back to High. The systems are not locked down but they are acting like they are. We are working on Windows XP Professional Operating Systems. I can change the setting in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Office/10.0/Excel (or Word)/Security/Level from a 3 to a 2 but cannot tell my users to do it this way. Any advice? |

I can't change the macro security level
Suggest you adjust security in all Word apps. I set at
medium and then things started to work better. Somehow I had some higher settings in Office 2003 was installed and I had perhaps a corrupt installation, which prevented many Macros from running. I would like to see MS allow us to accept for a period of time specific Macros. -----Original Message----- I have created an administrative install for Office XP Professional and left the macro settings "as is" - set to High. I can't change the macro security level
That's my problem - I can't change it at all in Excel or Word. Guess I'll reinstall it.

I can't change the macro security level
Is this a Server install, or an install on a single machine with several
users? At any rate, the Administrator install is what sets default values for all users. For any changes to "stick" for all users, you will have to log in as Administrator and make the changes. steve "Julie" wrote in message ...
