Valid Office Pro 2007 Product Key is not accepted
I purchased a Dell laptop with Office Pro 2007 installed on it. I formated
the laptop and installed Windows 7 and need to reinstall Office. 1) I have the CD case with the valide product key. I cannot find the CD. 2) I downloaded the trial version of Office Pro 2007, but it won't accept my VALID product key. 3) Dell said to call Microsoft and that they can't help. 4) Microsoft said to call Dell and that they can't help. 5) Please help! Any ideas? Dell and Microsoft are both passing the buck. I paid for this software and should be able to use it. Thanks, john |

John
Microsoft is correct with this issue. Dell is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and it was Dell that installed the Trial version of Office. The original install of Office was a Trial version and when you reformatted and installed Windows 7 you wiped the original Trial. Now that you downloaded the Office Trial and you are trying to install it ,then obviously you will have this issue. You cannot install a Trial version again. The only thing that you can do at this time is to purchase the Office 2007 program and receive a VALID license key ,and install the purchased version by first uninstalling all of the Trial and the Activation assistant. -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. My suggestion is to return that DELL to DELL as soon as possible and buy
another brand, Dell has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. "Peter Foldes" wrote: John Microsoft is correct with this issue.
