Permissions Tab Missing
When I right click on any of my folders and select Properties or Sharing, the "Permissions Tab" is missing. I am connected to an Exchange 2003 server and I am online when this problem occurs and I am the "Owner" of the account (as well as a supervisor on the Exchange Server). If our administrator logs in to my account on another machine, the "Permissions Tab" is present and works properly. Aparently, the problem is localized to my particular machine.
Is there a registery entry that will restore the permissions tab? Is there another fix that I can try? Thank you. |

Check to following.
1) Help | About Microsoft Outlook | Disabled Items. Is the Exchange extension commands and/or Exchange extension property sheets listed here? 2) Select Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options | Addin Manager. Is there a checkbox next to the two Exchange extensions. (one is commands and the other is properties) Outside of that, you are right that the tab should show when *online* or *connected* and looking a folder that is part of your exchange mailbox. The property sheet will not show when offline or looking at a folder that is part of a PST. "Brentwood" wrote in message ... Thanks for your response.
I checked the Exchange exensions in the Addin manager. In fact I tried working with these last night. They were unchecked. I checked them and restarted Outlook; I get the following error messages when both of the extensions load: ("Error in registry for extension "Exchange Extensions;?" The syntax or format of the registry entry is incorrect. Check the registry settings and compare the registry for this extension to other extensions in the registry"). I don't have any idea what keys I should be checking in the registry and what I should be checking for. Do you have any suggestions? Again, thank you. ----- neo [mvp outlook] wrote: ----- Check to following. 1) Help | About Microsoft Outlook | Disabled Items. It could be complaining about values found under.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Cli ent\Extensions Before hacking our way thru the registry, have you tried deleting the extend.dat file while Outlook is closed, start Outlook, and then reinstall/enable the exchange extensions?
