access 2007 design controls
I am using Access 2007 and am very frustrated. Each time I use a wizard to
create a form it "groups" all the controls together. So..... if I resize the label--it resizes the control field. Or I resize one control or more one control--it moves all controls and labels that it has "grouped" together. I say "grouped" but apparantly, they are not actaully grouped using that action because I cannot select the controls and click "ungroup" --- it is disabled. And so is "grouped" by the way. Is there some security feature I need to turn off? Is this no longer called grouping? I just want all my controls to be individually sized and move as I wish, including their attached labels. Also, I do not have this problem if I create a form from scratch and select the fields one by one. |

access 2007 design controls
The new control padding is actually one of my favourite features..but, it
can get in your way. Open up the form in design mode. Click on that one text box. Now, in he ribbon, click on he arrange tab at this point you can ht the remove button (right beside the tabular, and stacked button on the ribbon). if you wan to remove *all* items from this stacked (or tabular) group, then click on a text box that is still part of this grouping (you can't use the one we just un-grouped). When you click on it...all textboxes in the group will highlight, and a "+" symbol will appear to the upper left of the whole grouping. click on that, and then hit the "remove" button. The tabular options for building continues forms is actually one of the nicer new features of a2007, and is a *incredible* time saver, as it allows you to move both your detail and form heading section at the same time...saving HUGE amounts of time.... -- Albert D. access 2007 design controls
Hi Kathy,
I have been designing databases since Access 2 and with 2007 i feel like an idiot. Isn't it sad that we have to come to a forum for an answer on how to move a control?
