1706 error for one user on a multiuser winxp system

We have a communal pc where I am working now. Some users have admin
privileges, but most do not. Recently, we started getting the 1706 error
when one of the non-privileged users tries to access an Office program
(excel or word).

We tried re-installing, but the problem still exists.

Oddly, you can escape out of the multiple error messages, and the programs
appear to function normally.

What can I do next?

Very complicate error to solve. I got it solve after all. I am using Windows XP and Office 2003 in all my clients. Now I will explain how I got this problem solve. BTW I am running a windows 2003 enviroment in the backend just in case you wante to know that. I have all my clients with Mandatory Profiles (MAN). Somehow when you start office 2003 in the clients computers using a multiuser enviroment, office needs to create registry keys or access registry keys from the system. To solve this problem I just change all my users from having a mandatory profile to a Local profile. Let me tell you that changing about 500 clients in a network like mine to local profiles is not a easy task and it took me a whole bunch of time creating all this ghost images. But hey I solve this problem, now office 2003 works without a problem. Let me know if you still facing any problems. Local profiles is the way to go in a multiuser with office 2003, do not even try going for mandatory profiles, you still with be getting those nasty errors.2 cents to help some of you.
