Default 1608 error

When upgrading from Office 2003 Student to Office 2003 Professional, I get
error 1608. Office 2003 Student appears to be installed correctly, I can use
the various programs. I am re-installing both programs because I had to get
a new hard drive. I am using Windows XP Home Edition.

Office 2003 Professional Edition contains all of the
programs in the Office 2003 Student/Teachers (Standard)
Edition. There isn't a need for both on a single computer.

The 1608 error is from using an Office Professional upgrade
edition. Upgrades only recognize an earlier version of
Office, not one in the same (2003) series.

If you have an earlier version of Office or another qualifying
product either installed or on CD then you may be hitting the
problem listed here.
