Default Pie chart problem

I have a spreadsheet, transferred from access database of previous children's
party bookings. This s/sheet contains many columns containing info as below.

Title, First Name, Last Name, Address, City, County, Postcode, Home Phone,
Mobile Phone, Email Address, Date, Child's name, Age, Gender, Party Theme,
Duration, Enquiry Source.

For the purposes of business analysis/future marketing/advertising I am
trying to create pie charts to analyse by %. For example I wish to create a
pie chart of the column titled Enquiry source which contains customer
responses as categorised below-

INTERNET- YELL.COM
FLYER
INTERNET- KINGSTON ONLINE
INTERNET- GOOGLE
YELLOW PAGES
INTERNET- NOT SPEC
FAMILIES MAG
INTERNET- UK ENTS
UNKNOWN
WORD OF MOUTH
etc etc

How do i create a chart with multiple categories/data as above from one
column. to date all that happens is the first title in column just shows up
as a single line!!!
Please help

Default Pie chart problem

Hi,

I think this may be what you are looking for:

Suppose you want to plot the data in the Enquiry Source column, lets say
that is column K.

Make a list of the unique entries from column K, here in cell N1:N5 and in
cell O1 enter the formula

=COUNTIF(K$1:K$100,N1)

copy this formula down beside each entry in column N and then plot columns N
and O as a pie.

If this helps, please click the Yes button.

Default Pie chart problem

Hi Shane,
I tried your suggested formula. I am a complete novice with excel.
Presumably i needed to replace your specified column letter with the actual
column letter which is R? I then followed the rest of your instructions but
still the pie chart shows a single line, although now the titles of each
customer response are showing up with a colour code. Please advise further.
