Default Outline

I am using word 2000
I have an outline of a procedure to follow. I am using this type of outline
1. jjjj
1.1 pppp
2. uuuuu
2.1 yyyyy
2.2 llllll
2.2.1 iiiiiiii

I need to make changes to this outline and need to indicate the changes by
going outside of the margin and indicating this with the letter "A". Example:
A. 2. uuuuuuu

But every time I try to change the margin for one line the whole document
changes.
How can I do this?

Aurora

In this case the easiest method would probably be to insert a text box
in the margin and type "A" inside it.

Hi Aurora-

Another option is to make a 2 column table and Merge the cells in the second
column to contain the outlined text. In order to indent the subordinate
items in the outline use Alt+Tab instead of just Tab. Put your alpha markers
in the left column adjacent to the lines to which they pertain. That way
everything will be inside the margins and shouldn't present any printing
problems.

Good Luck |:)
