How do I straighten connectors in a visio drawing?

I am trying to straighten shapes on a visio drawing by straightening the
lines created when you connect two shapes via the connector tool. Any
suggestions?

For example, suppose there are three rectangles, connected by lines from
top to bottom. Select all three and "align" them left/right with centers on
the same vertical axis. The connectors will become vertical.

Basically, this is straightening the array of shapes with the lines
following along, rather than vice-versa.
