why a graphic pasted from a pdf file into a Publisher will not pri
I downloaded a pdf file from Marhta Stewart web site. I copied to the
Clipboard a graphic in this pdf file, then pasted it into a Publisher document. It looked fine. I could resize, move, do whatever with the graphic. But when I try to print the Publisher doc, the graphic does not show up, not even in the print preview. Anyone know why? Thanks for any help you can give. -- S Jan |

Could be that it's protected by some sort of security measure by Martha's
company so people don't steal their graphics, er, um... violate copyright laws? -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Sagit" wrote in message ... JoAnn,
The Martha Stewart web site offers this graphic to be downloaded and printed straight from the pdf file (it is to make a Father's Day card). I wanted to print it from a Publisher document because I can better control how much paper or the size of the paper to use for the card. The pdf assumes an 8 1/2 by 11. I wanted something smaller. The Adobe Acrobat Reader Help file tells how to paste into another application, which implies to me that I should be able to print the graphic, as well. If you have any other suggestions, I appreciate it. It finally worked. Apparently, I have to use the Snapshot Tool instead of
the Select Tool. They both copy to the Clipboard, but for some reason, the snapshot tool will allow printing the graphic. I'm sure there is some obsure process going on here, but at least it works. Thanks anyway for your time and suggestions.-- S Jan "Sagit" wrote: JoAnn, The Martha Stewart web site offers this graphic to be downloaded and printed straight from the pdf file (it is to make a Father's Day card). why a graphic pasted from a pdf file into a Publisher will not
In the task bar of my pdf file, I click on the Select button. The pointer
becomes a cross-hair. I then place the cross-hair over the image and selecting it by dragging a box around the image, starting at a corner and working my way to the opposite side. I then right click in the image and select "copy image to Clipboard". Then I paste it in a Publisher document. Then I print, checking the Print Preview box, to see if it is going to show up. For some strange reason, I could not get it to print consistently in Publisher, until I executed a specific way of copying in Adobe Reader. For instance, I couldn't just click on the copy button that shows up in the graphic after I have selected the graphic (drawn a box around it.) I had to right click in the graphic and click on the flyout. Also, I couldn't get it to work with the Snapshot Tool but one time. With Word, there was no problem at all. I hope this helps. I am going to try to find out what there is about Publisher that makes it so difficult, when Word is straightforward and works the first and every time. Thanks PS Please let me know if you can shed any light on this.-- S Jan "ssp09" wrote: shall appreciate if you explain in detail. thanks sam "Sagit" wrote: It finally worked. why a graphic pasted from a pdf file into a Publisher will not
I give up - I cannot get the graphic pasted from a pdf file into a Publisher
document to print every time. Every time I think I've figured it out. the next time I try it, it doesn't work again. I have to keep playing around with it until it will print again. There's something that I am just not seeing. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks -- S Jan "ssp09" wrote: shall appreciate if you explain in detail. thanks sam "Sagit" wrote: It finally worked.
