Default How to resize timescale in Gantt chart

I have a timeline that is just a little too wide for a landscape page and
want to shrink just the timescale portion to about 80%. I am having a heck of
a time selecting it as a column in order to resize it. Note: changing the
start/end dates or time units is not an option.

Is there a trick to selecting the timescale column that I am missing?

thanks

I don't think there is a way to do that. However, you can change the print scale so it
will fit on the printed page
menu File - Page Setup - Print Setup - Print Zoom

Default How to resize timescale in Gantt chart

It is possible to select the timescale as a column and resize it. I have done
it, the problem is, the method does not work all on all my timelines. I was
hoping someone else might have had some experience with this and help me
figure out what I am doing wrong.

Note: The Print Zoom option affects the entire timeline (even the
non-timescale columns) and that is not acceptable for my purposes. thanks for
the idea though.

To select the timescale as a column, (in Visio 2003), simply select any
header cell in the timescale portion of the Gantt chart, then click the cell
again until the column handles show up (the corners should be BROWN). You now
have the entire column selected and may change the width as you wish without
affected the sizes of other columns.

Did it work, not sure from what you are saying. You will have to do one at a time. The
shapes are just individual shapes, not columns, it's not a spreadsheet.

Ah, not what I thought you meant by the timescale portion. I assumed you meant the
month/day display section. I think you mean the Task Name, Start and Finish columns.
Yes, very different.
