Default Empty Recycle Bin sound does not play

When I empty the Recycle Bin the sound will not play. I've checked in Control Panel, Sounds under program events: and when I preview the sound, it will play. Other sound events work fine. I have 4 computers running XP Pro and on 3 of them I can't get the Empty Recycle Bin sound to play. I didn't even realize that it was not working until I decieded to use my own sound file. When I couldn't get it to work, I changed it back to the default "Windows XP Recycle.wav" and it still did not work. That is when I checked my other 3 computers and found 2 of them that are not working and one that does. I've tried severial .reg files at Kelly's corner but none of these have worked. I also tried exporting the folder {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} from HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID from the registry on the working computer and importing it to the non working computer. This also didn't fix the problem. Has anyone else experenced this and does anyone have a solution?
Please help if you can. Thank you!

Of all the posts we've seen with this strange cross-posting, this is the
first time I've seen a report that it was unintentional. I think something
must be strangely broken.

Aren't you tired of posting this? Most new users (especially those
who use the CDO) do not have a clue how to post a question, let alone
which group to post it to. Quit wasting bandwidth by letting us all
know the subject is off topic for MS Word or whatever. It's not like
the Word groups are "overloaded" to begin with.

I assume you are a regular reader of microsoft.public.word.newusers when you
state that the NG is not overloaded? My concern is with the mechanism that
is encouraging or forcing users to post to that NG when they intend to be
posting elsewhere.

Ms. Barnhill:

Perhaps you don't understand the problem. New users do not know how
to use a newsreader and as such rely on the CDO web interface to post
questions. Most will post one question and never return, or if they
return can't find replies. They may not have any idea of which group
to post to so instead post to any that have "MS" as part of the name
line.

When you reply here and state "off topic", chances are the person who
originally posted the question will never see that. It's a waste of
your time and anyone else who has to read it. Also, my experience
reading Word groups on this server (msnews.microsoft.com) leads me to
believe that it doesn't even approach the amount of posts that this
group (windowsxp.general) gathers in each day.

If you feel you're so overworked in the Word new users group, perhaps
you need to take a break and chill out.

Regards.

Given that the OP new how to cross post from the CDO Interface, it's very
unlikely that he fits your profile of a new users using the CDO web
interface. More likely in this case that the OP is behind a corporate
firewall that precludes the use of a newsreader.
