Default Office 97 Small business edition OEM setup error

Hi everybody.
I have a little notebook with Win98 First edition OEM, and Office 97 small
business edition. All software are original and licensed.
After formatting the HD, and reinstalling Win98, the setup wizard of Office
97 SBE, generate this error:
"Small Business Edition Setup This version of Office 97 Small Business
Edition will load only on versions of the operating system which have been
preinstalled by the PC manufacturer. Contact your PC manufacturer if this
product will not load on your PC".
I have applied the Microsoft KB171707 but the error don't expire!
The OEM productor can't help me, because he don't have a minimum idea of
this problem.
You can help me?
It's possible this situation after buy original software !?!?!?!?!
Thank you Microsoft !

Kubimax

Hi Kubimax,

The fix that you mentioned from
http://support.microsoft.com/default...us;171707&FR=1
should work (I'm assuming you're using the English language versions
of Office/Win98?) Be sure that you used quotation marks around
the file name (or that you have your folder options set to show
all hidden files and all file extensions) and the correct location
when saving the file then restart the PC.
