Excel 2003 Edit Links hangs running on XP
I have a number of interlinked spreadsheets, when I try to edit a
linked sheet using Edit-Links and click on the Change Source button, I can select the new spreadsheet that I wish to link to, however once I click OK, Excel hangs for quite some time, and in some cases (10 minutes +) is seems to crash. If I do this on my old NT4 machine with Office 97, I can make these changes without any problems. Can someone please advise if this is a known problem and if there are any workarounds I can use. |

Not a problem I have encountered but I would try opening the new source file before changing the link to it - that way Excel does not have to keep re-opening the file behind the scenes to get new values from it.
