Trial Install Hangs System.
Downloaded the Trial. Open the file and the first dialog displays, waiting
for entry of the key. At that point, my system is basically hung. It does run, but so slow that it's hard to tell. If I try to open task manager it may take 10 minutes before it shows. Looking at the task manager, the system is pretty much idle. It looks like Windows Explorer may be hosed, but all that's certain is that the system doesn't appear to be doing anything (no disk access), and doesn't want to do anything. Windows take the same lengthy time to refresh, etc. Took over an hour to get all running tasks shutdown so the system could be shutdown, which took about 20 minutes more, but eventually was able to restart. System works normally as long as I don't start the install again. I've downloaded a second time to make sure the download was good. Same issues. This is WinXP SP2, Office 2K3 installed without Visio. |

Trial Install Hangs System.
You may want to make sure Windows and Office 2003 have all the latest updates
and security patches first. You mentioned it is waiting for entry of a key, what is generating this message is it windows or Visio install asking for some type of product key? When you are performing the install make sure you are logged on as the administrator for the computer and make sure other applications are not running. The sluggish behavior sounds like something is using up all your resources. James W. "jwhook" wrote: Downloaded the Trial. Open the file and the first dialog displays, waiting for entry of the key.
