Default How can I show my pres. on any computer on a CD?

I want to make a mini-cd disc presentation for my company and I want it work on any computer, even if it doesn't have Power Point? I am wondering if "pack n go" will work to a cd or if there is another option?

There are many ways to do this, and you will probably get many different
responses. The way I prefer (for its extreme simplicity) is to save the
presentation as a web page, and copy it and an .INF file to a CD. Put the
..INF file in the root folder of your web on the CD.

I think this technique requires IE4 or higher. (I use IE6.) It does not
require PPT or a PPT viewer.

The .INF file is simplicity itself (no quotes):

"[autorun]
shellexecute=index.htm"

It works for me and I love it. And users can view the presentation the same
way they view the Internet: by surfing.

I use PPT '02, but it works in PPT '03 and might work in PPT '00.

Yes, Pack & Go will work to a CD, but you'll have to get one of the PPT
gurus to explain it to you.

Walter, would this technique make it so that Mac users could also open the presentations?

Thanks,
Sharon

The AutoRun trick? No. That's strictly a Windows thing to control what happens when the
user inserts a CD.

But converting the PPT to HTML is one way of making it more universal; you still need to
test it pretty thoroughly. Some of PPT's features are only supported in current Windows
versions of MS Internet Explorer. They may or may not work on the Mac versions or in other
browsers (like Mac Safari)
