Cannot read a .pub file
I am creating a yearbook for my school. I have been
working on the same file for months and whenever I try to open the file I get the message: Cannot read file. I am using Publisher2000 and have been working on the same computer from the beginning, the file is rather large... How can I open the file? Or recover the file? Is it possible that the file is too large to open? Please help, I am hoping I do not have to start all over again! Tara |

!"... I am using Publisher2000 and have been working on the same computer from the beginning, the file is rather large... How big is the file (the filesize - in KB or MB)? -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher http://www.mvps.org/the_nerd/ Before reading this message, view the disclaimer: http://mvps.org/the_nerd/disclaim.htm |

Cannot read a .pub file
Can you link photos in 2000? You really should be linking, NOT imbedding.

Cannot read a .pub file
Hi McCabe's Minuteman ),
in the newsgroups you posted: || Can you link photos in 2000? You really should be linking, NOT || imbedding. | You can choose to have the photo's linked, but they will still embed as well :-(. It's a bug that still exists in 2003. -- Brian Kvalheim Microsoft Publisher MVP http://www.mvps.org/publisher ~pay it foward~ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. |

McCabe's Minuteman !"... Can you link photos in 2000? You really should be linking, NOT imbedding. a) Embedding is spelled with 2 "e"s and one "i". b) Publisher, even when linking photos, stores them internally too, in case the original is deleted c) Publisher 2002 and up help by compressing pictures. -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher http://www.mvps.org/the_nerd/ Before reading this message, view the disclaimer: http://mvps.org/the_nerd/disclaim.htm |

Cannot read a .pub file
Look in the Windows temp folder, Publisher does create temp files, you maybe able to
recover some part of the file there. Another place to look, in Windows Explorer, type %temp% in the address bar. -- Mary Sauer MS MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://www.mvps.org/msauer/ news://msnews.microsoft.com wrote in message ...
