Default Custom Splash Screen Problem - Access 2000

I have followed a few links suggesting adding Custom Splash Screens as
follows:

1. Create Bitmap Image with same name as database, for example:
DataBaseName.bmp

2. Place the .bmp File in same directory as .mdb File.
3. Double Click .mdb File and Custom Splash Screen will appear instead of
Access.

So, I have tried this. The Custom Splash Screen does appear, but disappears
in a micro second or two, and is replaced by the launching of Access. I
must be missing something?

Thanks

Splash screen will show only until ACCESS completely loads. Then it's
replaced by ACCESS window.

If you want a "splash screen" to show longer, then create a form in your
database, put a Timer event on it to close itself after x seconds, and then
put that form's name in the Startup options for "Open this form when the
database opens" (or some wording to that effect for the option).
