Default Rules preventing some e-mail from arriving

I'm googled/binged this a bit but can't seem to find out why some e-mails
aren't showing up when I have my rules enabled.

I disable all rules and everything seems fine. I've probably got a conflict
or error somewhere although looking over the rules several times everything
seems to check out.

I'm pretty sure it's me, what are some basic rules one should follow when
using rules? I'm in a corporate environment and all I'm basically doing is
creating folders for various departments and adding multiple people to a rule
and have everyone in that department automatically filter into that one
folder. I've probably got ~15 rules at the moment.

The usual suspect is not including the stop-clause in your rules.
Without it, EVERY rule gets tested against each newly delivered e-mail.
This can result in unwanted side effects. You need to look at the
*flow* of your e-mails through your rules.

Hehe I was hoping that would do it. I enabled one rule for my specific dept
which has 5 people in it. The rule basically says if an e-mail is received
from myself, a or b or c or d (a, b c and d being co-workers) move it to this
folder.

With or without the stop clause, and only this one rule being enabled I
don't even get e-mails from myself much less my buddies.

It would help to post the EXACT text of the rule and an example of a message
(including headers) that you think should trigger the rule but doesn't. Be
sure to mask any real mail addresses in the post, however, so you don't supply
addresses for the harvesting bots.
