Why do documents open in Microsoft Works and not Office 2007?

Default Why do documents open in Microsoft Works and not Office 2007?

When I try to open documents from the internet my computer automaticly opens
them in Microsoft Works. I would like for it to open directly into Microsoft
Word 2007, but I am not sure how to make it a default so that it will. Any
advice would be helpful.

Do you have Word?

You can open Windows Explorer, select ToolsFolder Options, then select File
Types, scroll down the list to the file type you are interested in -- in
thhis instance, that would be DOC. It shouuld say that the default program
to open these files is Works. Select CHANGE, and choose Word. Click OK.

If you have a full licensed version of Office why do you need works
cluttering up your PC, uninstall it
