Allow others to add new appointments but not see calendar items
I have a fairly unique request from one of my customers. They're running Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003. One of the managers would like her secretary to be able to add items to her calendar, but not view items already in her calendar. I see this can be done by setting "create" permission on the manager's calendar for the secretary. This does allow her to add items, but it doesn’t take into affect free/busy time. For example, if the manager has a meeting at 9:00am that day, Outlook will still allow the secretary to schedule another appointment at 9:00am if she’s adding the appointment directly to the manager’s calendar.
I've also played around trying to use the "scheduling" tab on the secretary's calendar. The problem with this is that it assumes the secretary should be included in the meeting request and even if I remove her name from the list and only add the manager’s name, when I hit save/close...it still adds the manager's meeting to the secretary calendar. My goal here is to allow the secretary the ability to add items to the manager's calendar, but in a manner similar to the free / busy scheduling so it will tell her if the manager already has an appointment at that time. Can this be done? |

Teach the secretary how to check free/busy time first before scheduling. The
