Grouping Chart Shapes
Hi All,
I’m trying to group a chart shape with another group shape and was wondering whether or not this was possible. When I attempt it I get this error message... ‘Organization Chart shapes cannot be included in a group shape’. I’m trying to add additional information to a Work Breakdown Structure and then colour code it, so it would be useful if I could group the two shapes so that the move together and retain the linkage to the higher level.. I have looked at using a divider line but it just makes the chart shape look extremely messy. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I’m using Visio 2003. Regards, DK |

Grouping Chart Shapes
The message you receive when attempting to group the Organization Shape with
another, is expected, so no you cannot group them together. If you are interested in just moving the shapes together simply select the two shapes and move them. Select the first shape hold down the shift key then left mouse click on the second shape; continue to hold down the shift key. When the shapes are selected there should be an indicator. The shapes should change colors, on my computer it appears as violet. The pointer should now have an addition to it. Two lines crossing each other that intersects in the middle. You now have the ability to move the shapes together. James W. "DK" wrote: Hi All, I’m trying to group a chart shape with another group shape and was wondering whether or not this was possible.
