TOC page numbers incorrect
We are noticing a problem with Word's TOC in print preview. When we switch
to Print Preview in a Word document the TOC page numbers are incorrect (usually they all show page 3 or 4). It appears Word is repaginating the pages. If you wait for that to complete and then close and reopen print preview that page numbers appear correctly. When we open Microsoft Word in safe mode this problem does not occur. This leads me to believe there must be a setting somewhere but I'm not able to find it. This becomes an even bigger problem if you have Tools | Options | Print | Update Fields turned on. With this option selected the TOC in the document itself changes to the incorrect page numbers after going into Print Preview. You then have to manually update the TOC. Our client is complaining about this behavior. Since this behavior does not exist in safe mode I'm hopeful there is some way to prevent this from happening. Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this? |
