Cannot Send Multiple Image Attachments

I am using outlook express and can happily send mutiple attachments except
when they photographs/image files. I have re sized them so the file size is
not too big and it will send one, but if I attach more than one to a message
it "says" sending msg 1 if x and then just hangs. Is there any reason why
this may be happening?

1. OE Tools Accounts Mail [account] Properties Advanced Break
apart messages... (uncheck).

2. Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides no
additional protection, it might be involved with the problem, and even
Symantec says it's not necessary:
