Pivot Table Summary
Hi,
I want to be able to summarise some data that I have in a Pivot Table I created. The data from the Pivot Tables is contained in many tabs in my workbook. I just selected the mutliple sources option when I created the table, using the wizard. It has people names in the rows and the programs they worked on in the columns. The data in the table is the amount of time a person has worked on a program. I would like to know if it is possible to summarise all the data by each person's name and then an individual line for the each program they worked on and the amount they worked on it. (and ignore the programs they didn't work on) i.e. Arun Sharma - BMW program - 0.5 Arun Sharma - VW program - 0.2 Arun Sharma - SMART - 0.3 Is this possible? I would appreciate any help or advice as soon as possible. Thanks in advance --- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

Pivot Table Summary
Pivot tables are somewhat limited when created from multiple
consolidation ranges. There's an example he http://www.contextures.com/xlPivot08.html You'd have the most flexibility in your report if you store all the data on the same worksheet, with Name, Program, Hours as column headings, and any other columns you need, e.g. Name Program Hours Date Sam ProgramA 15 7/1/04 Joe ProgramB 20 7/1/04 Then, create the pivot table from that, with Name and Program in the Row area, and Hours in the data area. It would omit any programs on which the person didn't work. arunsharm82 wrote: Hi, I want to be able to summarise some data that I have in a Pivot Table I created.
