All documents are suddenly locked in an activated Word 2007

Yesterday, I had a locked document sent from a client. I managed to unlock
it and all was well.

Today every one of my Word documents are locked. Word is activated so
that's not the problem. Also I can get into most menus, but cannot click on
any item in the Office Button menu, except EXIT. Then I get a message that
Word has a problem and will restart. So it seems to crash on exit every time.

I uninstalled and reinstalled, but have all the the same problems. I would
most appreciate it if anybody could give me a solution. Thanks

Assuming that this is a full retail version of Office 2007 and not merely a
trial that has now expired, see if

issues that are causing Word to crash on exit. Re-installing rarely achieves
anything useful.
