Default Missing "x" to close file

Usually there's an "x" on the 2nd line/toolbar to close files, but only the
"x" on the top is showing to close the Word program. Where is the one to
close files without having to go to Home & Close selections.

Is this on one document or all documents?

Meanwhile, you can close the document with Ctrl-W.

There isn't one. You have to add it to your QAT or, as "grammatim" suggests,
use Ctrl+W.
