How do I count characters WHILE TYPING in Word?
I know how to get a character count when done (proofing-translate) but is
there a way I can show an ongoing character count while I am creating the document (like the word could that shows at the bottom of the page, but a character count instead of a word count?

Click that Word Count at the bottom.
