Default AutoFilter not an Option

I have a large spreadsheet with multiple columns of data. Each column has a label and no column is left entirely blank. When I go to the Data:Filter menu the AutoFilter selection is greyed out. If I copy the data into a new spreadsheet I can select AutoFilter.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why I can't select AutoFilter in the original spreadsheet?

Jeremy

The worksheet is protected?

ToolsProtection. Is "unprotect sheet" available?

If so, you may need a password to unprotect the sheet.

Note: sheet protection does not prevent copying and pasting to another sheet
or book.

One more potential problem: Do you have more than one sheet selected (grouped)?

No. Looks like it was sheet protection. Thanks.
