Default how do I specify what attachments to Open?

I recently received an email that had an attachment in .tif format.
One computer would open and view the .tif picture.
But another computer would not.

Apparently I need to tell OE to allow/accept and recognize the .tif as an
acceptable picture format.

But I can't find where I give that permission

Please and thank you.

There are several possible issue there.

1)
To stop the blocking of Any attachments, see this article:
Cannot Open E-Mail Attachments in Outlook Express 6 After You Install
SP1
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329570

If you've installed XP SP2, then see:
Description of how the Attachment Manager works in Windows XP Service
Pack 2
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=883260

To adjust which types of attachments OE blocks, see this article:
OLEXP: Using Virus Protection Features in OLEXP 6 and SP1
(OE removed access to the unsafe attachments in your email)
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=291387

2) If when you attempt to open the TIF file you get a message that you
need to set a file association, that's a different issue. IF you save
the TIF file and then double click it from Windows Explorer and still
get the error, you need to tell Windows what program to use. If that
opens OK, then the issue is that the File Association needs an OPEN
action to keep OE happy.
