Attachments to e-mail
I want to attach a number of pictures to an e-mail without the pictures being displayed in the body of the e-mail. So far, when trying to do this the pictures ARE displayed in the body of the e-mail when received by the recipient. So, how can I do the attachment without the pictures showing up in the e-mail when received by the recipient? Thanks for any help.

You can't if using Plain Text. Outlook Express displays or renders graphic
images attached to mail following the end of the text portion of the message. If you want to use HTML, you can embed the graphics and they will only appear in the absolute positions you indicate in your HTML coding. In any case, you cannot control what an individual user will see in his/her mail reader. Different mail clients will display images in a different fashion and even if the recipient is using Outlook Express, they may have their options set to read all messages in Plain Text, which defeats all the work of creating it in HTML. Out of curiousity, why is the question important? -- Jim Pickering, MVP-Outlook Express Please reply only to newsgroup. "Jules Levine" Jules wrote in message ... I want to send about 15 picture (jpg) files by attaching them to an e-mail. I want the recipient to be able to access them by double clicking on the relevant icon in the attach line but not be bothered by the clutter of images on the body of the e-mail. Is there an alternative way of sending files to an e-mail address?

Hi Jules,
Outlook Express displays pictures in the message. The best way to share this many pictures is by making use of personal Web space. It would also be possible to create a slide show (there is probably free software available on the Internet) and make this available to the recipient. A slideshow would be a fairly large file for dialup sending and receiving. Here is an example of using Word, FTP and Web space provided by the ISP. Slideshows were also made available for the people involved, but have since been removed. http://home.earthlink.net/~kuaytim/glennaparty80.htm -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MVP - (IE/OE) Lynnwood, WA * "Jules Levine" wrote in message ...
