Default Accessing internet on XP, through Windows 2000 network

Hello there,

I hope someone can help me. We are a small business of 8
computers and have just purchased our 9th computer which
has XP installed for the operating system (our other
machines are Windows 2000). We cannot however, access the
internet. The internet wizard set up tells me that I need
to update the other machines. Why do I get this message?

Internet access is gained through our LAN - one machine
has the router attached and we have no problems with this.
Can the XP operating system access the internet if it is
on a Windows 2000 machine? What do I need to install go
gain access?

On the XP machine, I can see all Windows 2000 machines on
the network, share files etc - so why can I not get an
internet connection

Many thanks if someone can help me.
