Default MIFI 2200

Having trouble sending messages in outlook 2007 - keep getting error messages
when connected via the MIFI 2200 (verizon). Receive messages fine, but error
message reads:Task 'mail.comcast.net' - 'Sending' reported error
(0x800CCC78); 'Cannot send the message. Verify the e-mail address in your
account properties. The server responded: 50 5.1.0 Authentication required'
Spoke to verizon who states since we can receive messages it is comcast issue.
Spoke to comcast who had us change the port for sending to 587 (was at 25)
this did not resolve issue. Purchased MIFI 2200 so we can have access when
traveling.
If can't resolve sending issues then will have to return it. HELP -

Did Comcast mention whether or not you can use their SMTP server to send
mail when connected to another ISP's network? If they say yes it is
possible, then it sounds like you use port 587 and you have to make sure
that you authenticate to there SMTP server with your Comcast POP3 mailbox
credentials.
