Default Crashes in address book

Using Word 2007 under Vista. When I double-click an address book
entry from Outlook contacts (using Word's address book icon from
toolbar), Word crashes with message: Word has stopped working.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Someone at work mentioned that Outlook 2007 must be open when using
Word's address book - is this true? Never used to be a problem...

No it is not true, however Outlook must be the default e-mail application.
