Default Protecting a block in a cell

I don't want to protect an entire cell, but part of it. Example: Iwant to be
able to protect cells F28-F39 and not protect Cells F1-F27. How can I do
that!

By default the cells will be locked if you protect the sheet. Select cells
F1-F27, Format/ Cells/ Protection, & unselect "Locked". Then protect the
sheet.
