2003 upgrade weird results when OfficeXP installed in custom folde
I have a network share with a custom MST.
A successful install takes place inc SP2 on my machines which have Office 97 installed to the default location ie. Program FilesMicrosoft Office. On these machines Office 97 seems to be successfully removed prior to the silent install of Office 2003. My install line is: \\servername\ShApps\Office2003\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=\\fp2\ShApps\Office2003\office2003custo m.MST /qb- I also have some nework machines which have Office 97 installed to default location BUT also have OfficeXP Powerpoint only installed to a non default location, namely: Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeXP When I run my install I had hoped it would detect both Office 97 and the PP application in the "Microsoft OfficeXP" folder and delete all before installing Office 2003. It does not. Weird things happen.... Prior to install in the Microsoft OfficeXP folder I have 3 sub-folders media, Office10 and Templates. After I run my install using: \\servername\ShApps\Office2003\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=\\fp2\ShApps\Office2003\office2003custo m.MST /qb- I have the following folders: CLIPART MEDIA OFFICE11 Templates In creating the MST file I requested that ALL previous versions of Office be uninstalled. From my MST file there is a line: + DEFAULTREMOVECHOICEDESCRIPTION Default DEFAULTREMOVECHOICEDESCRIPTION 11 Why does Office 2003 default to install to a folder I expected to be removed? Also, why are ONLY InfoPATH, PP and Publisher installed - missing are WORD 2003, EXCEL and ACCES.... Very confused. Can anyone help? |
