Default Outlook Express problem-Configuration mailbox

I'm having problem opening my outlook. The login 127.01 or pop3 mail server
something is always popping up and asking for my password and it's not
suppose to. If I enter, nothing is happening. I consulted my internet
provider and was advised to consult you due to this error-configuration
mailbox.

Help

I'm not sure exactly what you are saying. I use Cox and have always had good results with their Tech Support.

In ToolsAccountsMailPropertiesServers, you should have these settings, (view in HTML)

These settings can change if you use e-mail scanning. An anti-Spam program, or even your A/V could also be responsible. Start by turning off e-mail scanning. Make sure these settings are correct.

I have never heard of an *Error configure mailbox* unless this is what they mean.

As for the password:

Outlook Express Does Not Save the Mail Server Logon Password

Cannot Save E-Mail Account Password in Outlook Express 5

Your Password Is Not Retained in Windows 2000 or XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=264672

Win98, WinME, Win2K
http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;q216382

Outlook Express keeps prompting for your password

If you continue to have problems, I suggest you call Cox back and ask to speak to an *Upper Level* technician.

Your anti-virus or anti-spam program is resetting your POP3 server to
127.0.0.1
Turn off email scanning in the anti-virus (you are still just as well
protected) or uninstall the anti-spam program. Then reset the POP3 server
to the correct name.
