Default Problem with Blocked Sender function

I work on XP home, Microsoft Outlook Express 6.

When I try to go to the Blocked Senders List (Tools, Message Rules,
Blocked Senders List) the screen hangs up and the program stops working.
It used to work perfectly, it stopped without any changes being made to
anything.

A small window which is totally white appers at the site.

I want to delete all my blocked addresses.

Can anyone help - or suggest who might be able to help me?

TIA

Mary

The Registry key has probably become corrupt.
Go to Start | Run and type
regedit
and navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Micro soft\Outlook
Express\5.0\Block Senders

Right click it and select Delete. (Make sure that you only selected Block
Senders.)

Then you will have to rebuild your list.

I did this with joy in my heart, all the time composing an eloquent grateful
post :-)

But it hasn't worked :-(

I'm getting exactly the same response. Oh - and I did try immediately after
doing the above and also after re-booting.

But I don't want to give up - any more ideas? Please ... I do appreciate
your interest.

You may have a damaged Identity. Create a new one and test
it. If all is well, you can Import your messages and delete
the old Identity.

OK, I created a new one and the blocked sender thing comes up with no
problem. empty of course, as is everything else!

If all is well, you can Import your messages

Thank you. How do I do that please?

No-one can know everything ...

and delete the old Identity.

I'm nervous about doing that and losing everything as I'm sure you'll
understand :-(

Open OE in the new Identity. FileImportMessages. Choose:
Microsoft Outlook Express 6 then follow the prompts.

OK, I did that, all personal messages in - but none marked as being watched.
No doubt I'll have to do that by hand ...

And all my newgroups too, including this one :-)

Ah well, it's been a great learning experience, thank you. I'll work on the
fine tuning when I get back from the Easter break - and our sapphire wedding
anniversary!

Thanks again,

Mary
