Default 0987 show in the cell - the zero drops off-ned all 4 digits

I type in 0987 in the top bar and yet I press enter the number in the row
cell shows 987 and the top bar no longer has the zero.

I looked at format and i have tried number , general, custom etc -- HOw to
get the zero and all four digits to show?

Thanks
Mike

Mike

Format as text and it will stay or lead with a single apostrophe. (It will
not show) or if the numbers are all four digits long format it via
FormatCells...Custom and enter 0000 (the number below will still actually
be the number without the leading zero, but the display will be fine.
